Mystery Plant Identification: Evening Stocks

“Hi Mertie Mae,

We have a question for you. We have been growing vegetables in the greenhouse for transplant sales for a long time. This year we ventured into growing more than just the basic petunias and marigolds. We had a new employee do the labeling on the flowers, and somehow the names have washed off. We were able to identify or figure out most of the items, except for this one:

Evening Stocks

Do you know what it is? Thank you,

John and Beth

Thank you for the email and photo of your mystery plant.  It is an Evening Stock (Matthiola incana).

I hope this information helps you out.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
